Preschool Classes (ages 18months – 6 years)

babyballet Tinies, Movers and Groovers: An introduction to dance using creative, imaginative role-playing and fun props. These classes may involve pretending to be animals, going on adventures, playing instruments to learn rhythm, learning balancing, skipping and running and techniques using costumes and ribbons, or picking up “diamonds”  (shhh…they’re actually just feathers) from the ground to develop their hand-eye coordination. These classes are suitable for both boys and girls and are available for ages 18 months right through to 6 years. We have so much fun that they don’t even realise that they are learning the fundamentals of dance technique along the way, as well as putting together a dance for the show.

Lil’Leapers: This is a fun intro to Jazz & Hip Hop! Classes are specially designed for boys and girls aged 3-5 to explore their physical capabilities. Combining funky arm movements, hops, jumps, learning co-ordinations and performance skills, it is perfect for the Lil’ Leapers who can’t stay still!

Tiny Tumblers: This is a fun intro to Acro dance! Acro is a combination gymnastics and dance skills performed with music. Classes are specially designed for boys and girls aged 3-6 years to explore their physical capabilities through storytelling and imagination. Skills are focused on 5 core areas: flexibility, strength, tumbling, limbering and balance. This class is perfect for the Tiny Tumbler who loves to roll & leap around!

Primary/Intermediate Classes (ages 5 – 12years)

Petite Ballet, Beautiful Ballerinas, Developpe Ballerinas, Pas de Trois Ballet, Prima Ballerinas, and Super Cignets Ballet: In these classes, our dancers build on their ballet technique using creative role play, costumes, props and will thrive from positive reinforcement. There are opportunities for students in these classes to participate in Ballet exams which will encourage them to progress through the syllabus and work hard to move up into the next graded level.

Junior Jiggle Jazz, Jazz Stars, Sassy Jazz, Jazz Junkies, Jump’n’Jive Jazz, Jammin’Jazz, Jete Jazz & Jazzy Jazzsters: Our primary school age jazz students are building on the basics of jazz technique to popular and age appropriate music. Some examples of the techniques our jazz students will learn include turns, kicks, leaps and body isolations. There are opportunities for students in these classes to participate in Jazz exams which will encourage them to progress through the syllabus and work hard to move up into the next graded level.

Tiny Tappers & Happy Tappy Tappers: In these classes students will be learning the super fun basic tap skills in an imaginative way well as building on their sense of rhythm and their confidence when it comes to performances. Our tappers love dancing to popular, age-appropriate music and getting LOUD! There are opportunities for students in these classes to participate in Tap exams which will encourage them to progress through the syllabus and work hard to move up into the next graded level.

Leap & Limber, Active Acro, Flexi Flippers and Allstar Acro: We’ve known for a long time that kids love nothing more than attempting and perfecting new “tricks.” Remember learning a cartwheel? We sure do, and it’s that sense of pride and exhilaration that we love to pass on to all students. Our Acro classes are taught by our qualified teachers and the class levels for this discipline are skill-based. The levels are beginner and intermediate and once our students have mastered the skills in their level they move up to the next allowing them to develop their skills at their own pace.

Lil’Monkies, Vibe Kidz, Funk It Up & Groovn’ Styles Hip Hop: In these classes, dancers explore a wide range of styles from locking and popping to house and basic breaking. They are encouraged to express their individuality while learning hip hop technique from our awesome hip hop teachers who have an extensive knowledge of hip hop dance in New Zealand and overseas. Our hip hop students are also invited to participate in achieving awards several times a year in recognition of their hard work, while having fun along the way!

Creative Junior & Senior Contemporary: Contemporary is an interesting art form, similar to ballet but a bit more free in movement style. In our classes we explore how to use our bodies through exploring anatomy (muscles and bones) and how they work together. We also explore how we can use our bodies through space, into and out of the floor and using the force of gravity. There is a lot of rolling around on the floor in interesting ways, but also plenty of twisting, jumping and leaping in the air!

Broadway Babies, Triple Threat & Powerful Performers Musical Theatre: Everyone loves a little sing-a-long once in a while. Our musical theatre classes are super fun: combining drama games, dance moves and singing techniques to create characters, stories and routines ready to perform on stage!
